This question comes to mind after taking a close look at tariff cards of Taj West End hotel, where most of the guests were put up. While a high-end suite, as per the hotel’s website, costs Rs 35,000 per day, tariff of the suite where Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu stayed amounted to Rs 2 lakh per day. The bill also suggests that Naidu had dinner and juices worth Rs 2.13 lakh (which included GST) on the night of May 23!
In all, Naidu ran up a bill of Rs 8.3 lakh for his few hours of stay in Bengaluru. Similarly, BSP chief Mayawati’s stay in Shangri La hotel has cost the state exchequer around Rs 1.4 lakh and that of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal Rs 1.8 lakh.

Figures shock Naidu, Kejriwal: Sources
According to sources, the exorbitant expenditure the state government has incurred on their food and lodging has left many leaders, including Naidu and Kejriwal, shocked and both have reportedly sought an inquiry by the Karnataka government.
However, chief secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar said there is no demand for a probe into food and accommodation bills of guests from any quarter and no inquiry will be conducted at this point.
“It is not right for me to speak on a subject which I’m not aware of,” CM Kumaraswamy had said during his post-cabinet briefing in Vidhana Soudha on Thursday.
